Thoughts, Imagination, and Wings As Eagles

I have been thinking about the power of imagination and thoughts and this post is the result of several inspired emails from people and my scripture study this morning. The first insight came from Sister C, and is about the power of thoughts. In the story of Alma the younger, as he himself recounts it, he tells how after the angel confronted him and his friends about their bad behavior, his soul was racked with torment:
16 And now, for three days and for three nights was I racked, even with the pains of a damned soul.
Then he remembers the words of his father:
17 And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.
This is just a thought. But he chooses to pursue this thought:
18 Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death.
As soon as he thought this....
19 And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more.
It was a thought! It was a thought that allowed him to access the atonement and freed him from the chains and torment.
20 And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!  (Book of Mormon, Alma, Chapter 36)

Okay think about that as I cue up the next part.

Today I was studying about wings in the scriptures. Allie sent me an email saying that she had discerned metaphysical eagle wings on me and wondered what I do with this spiritual gift. I love these emails. I always wonder what kind of ads gmail will generate up for me when they crawl these kinds of emails. But leaving gmail aside, let's talk about wings. I knew I had them... but hadn't thought too much about them. So I decided to investigate. Why? What do they do/represent?

The first thing I think of is Revelations 4 and the four beast that surround the thrown of God. This is where I found my first scripture mantra and so I have a special affinity for this chapter. And in D&C God tells Joseph Smith that wings represent power. I realize that I have spiritual power, but why?

Well, we know that the scriptures say that Jesus will rise with "healing in his wings." And that he will gather his people like a hen gathers her chicks under her wing. I am both a healer and I do have a gift/responsibility for gathering people. It just sort of happens. I gather people.

But these are not chicken wings. They are wings like an eagle. The most famous scripture about eagle wings is from Isaiah 40:31
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I have always loved that scripture, but here is a little jewel I found in D&C 124:99 today that adds a bit more awesome details.

98 And these signs shall follow him—he shall heal the sick, he shall cast out devils, and shall be delivered from those who would administer unto him deadly poison;
99 And he shall be led in paths where the poisonous serpent cannot lay hold upon his heel, and he shall mount up in the imagination of his thoughts as upon eagles’ wings.
The first part is standard signs that follow those who believe in Christ. The second part adds so much to concept of eagle's wings. It is actually the imagination that gives one the power to "mount up" as it were, with wings as eagles. It is truly our thoughts and the things we create with our imagination that elevate us and give us access to healing, and it is our thoughts and imaginations that drag us down. Or to be clear, it is the thoughts we choose to pursue. We do not always generate the thoughts that come to our minds. The thought that came to Alma's mind was probably put there by the Spirit, but he chose to take hold of it.

"You think you think but you don't think.... Don't complicate things by trying to think....As humans we have one power, to pursue a thought. What are you gonna pursue? "I am finite" Or, "I am infinite?" - Yogi Bhajan

I am teaching a week-long imagery certification course in Ojai, California that begins in 3 weeks. In it I will be training people to guide others through journeys of the imagination for healing, positive change, and divine connection. Here is the info. I just thought I would put this out there that I know there are few more people who are supposed to be here for it and so if it is you, please pursue it and create it. I will pray that the path will be clear for you to come.  Sat Nam.

Imagination IS Everything.

This is a repost. Because I think it is worth reading again. And I am hoping to inspire a few more people to come to my imagery training in 3 weeks. There is still room for last minute sign ups and I am putting my prayers out to clear the path for those who are supposed to be here.

Imagination As The Key to Reality

"Gifted people are able to use their imaginations to create new things; both wonderful and terrible. Some people come to this earth with their powers of imagination already well developed, and I saw that some of them misuse that power here. Some people use negative energy to create harmful things--items or words that can destroy. Others use their imaginations in positive ways, to the betterment of those around them. These people truly create joy and are blessed. There is a literal power in the creations of the mind. Thoughts are deeds."
"I understood that life is lived most fully in the imagination--that, ironically, imagination is the key to reality."  Betty Eadie - Embraced By The Light
As a healer, one of my favorite modalities is therapeutic guided imagery. I guide the client into a peaceful, safe, trance state and then invite “images” to come. The journey is semi-guided. I am only the facilitator and I make sure the journey stays safe, healing and elevating. Sometimes we invite a guardian angel, an inner guide, or Jesus Christ himself, and the client describes what they are seeing so I can guide them to a therapeutic outcome. Sometimes we find a person’s inner control room and they go in and move some dials that control happiness, or physical pain. These imagery “journeys” as I call them, are in truth, visions. And anyone who has ever taken one with me or a similar facilitator, can vouch for this.

When I was young I used to think that the visions Nephi or Abraham or Moses had were different than my own personal revelation. I used to think that when they were “carried away” on top of a high mountain, that they really were taken to the top of a mountain. The truth is, they were “carried away in the spirit,” and their bodies were usually still laying on their bed.

The Book of Mormon Prophet Lehi - "And it came to pass that he returned to his own house at Jerusalem; and he cast himself upon his bed, being overcome with the Spirit and the things which he had seen. And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a avision, even that he saw the bheavens open…." (Read the whole story in 1 Nephi 1)

Lehi's son Nephi, also a great prophet - "For it came to pass after I had desired to know the things that my father had seen, and believing that the Lord was able to make them known unto me, as I sat pondering in mine heart I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord, yea, into an exceedingly high mountain, which I never had before seen, and upon which I never had before set my foot." (Read the whole story at 1 Nephi)

Lamanite King Lamoni - Fell to the earth and seemed dead for 3 days. When he came to he shared his vision and was a totally changed man and changed his whole kingdom. (Read the whole story in Alma 18-19)

Book of Mormon Prophet Alma - Fell to the earth and seemed dead. When he came to, he had seen a vision of Jesus Christ and was a totally changed man. Became one of the greatest leaders and spiritual teachers in the Book of Mormon. (Great story. Mosiah 27)

Biblical Prophet Abraham - “…the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision…” [this is when God promises him offspring like the sands of the sea.] (Gen 15:1)

Moses - Moses was caught up on “an exceedingly high mountain” and sees God “face to face,” God says “look and I will show you the workmanship of mine hands….” God shows Moses world without number. (Amazing vision: Moses 1)

Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Aaron, Miriam, Hannah, Mary....The list goes on.

If you look up Visions in the Topical Guide, you will also see many references to Dreams. While some of these scriptural visions that are called dreams may have occurred during REM sleep, many likely didn't, but dream was the best way they could describe it. Visions, like imagery journeys, often have a dreamlike quality—in that you are totally engaged in all of your senses, and it feels real.

The truth is, you are not engaged with the five senses of the physical world—or the natural man. There is a yogic saying that the five senses will always lead you into the illusion (or maya, as the yogis call it). But when you close your eyes and “imagine” using all of your senses, you access higher senses--which leads one closer to reality.

Many people get their best revelation when they are between sleep and wakefulness because it is only time they are quiet and restful and when what they know as "reality” is already blurry. A friend recently had a horrible fever that lasted for days, and she told me that when she was delirious she saw two angels standing beside of her taking all the bad stuff out of her and putting in sparkly stuff. (Her words.)  She wasn’t sure if it was real or if she was dreaming. I told her it was totally real. Angels are always around us doing the will of the Lord in answer to our prayers. She was just detached enough from this reality to see them. So if you have ever had an experience that you wondered if it was real, the answer is probably YES. (Unless you were smoking weed or something else, and then I can't vouch for your experience.)

The good news is that you don’t have to be delirious or even have your eyes closed to have a vision:
“And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Iseral, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness [meditation!].. and the spirit of God came upon him…[and he] saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open.” (Num 24:1-4)
When I guide my clients through an imagery journey, we are consciously choosing to leave the known world and enter a different state. This trance state is sometimes called “hypnosis,” named after Hypnos, the Greek God of sleep. This is a relatively new term for a state that has existed for eons--but it is a misnomer, because although a person in this state may look asleep, it is more of an awakening or enlightening that is happening. Some mystics called this state religious ecstasy.

In some of the above examples, the prophets were not seeking a vision. For example, Lehi was exhausted and was casting himself on his bed. Others were seeking revelation, and believed they could get it--like Nephi. Boy did he get it, and more.

Not only is it okay to seek for and ask for visions/revelation, but according to Joseph Smith, and the Bible Dictionary it is essential for our progression and “Without revelation, all would be guesswork, darkness, and confusion.” (BD)

….Continuous revelation from God to His Saints, through the Holy Ghost or by other means, such as visions, dreams, or visitations, makes possible daily guidance along true paths and leads the faithful soul to complete and eternal salvation in the celestial kingdom. The principle of gaining knowledge by revelation is the principle of salvation. It is the making known of divine truth by communication with the heavens… (Read full entry here.)

When you go on a therapeutic imagery journey, it begins with the simple act of imagining. Imagination is sometimes thought of as child’s play. Indeed, we are commanded to become as little children. In my experience, it is through this relaxed and submissive state that we gain access to the higher self and higher realms.

As the journey progresses, the “images” that form and the communication that happens, ultimately does not come from your own imagination, but from a higher source. Clients feel this. And they want more. The truth is, we all need more of this.

The best thing about therapeutic imagery is that you don’t have to wait for morning. You don’t have to worry that they might be nightmares (they are always awesome and uplifting), and the interpretations/implications, are much more available to your conscious mind. They also change you. That is what the Holy Ghost does. It is a game changer.

It is through the power of the Holy Ghost that people are “carried away in the Spirit.” There are a few scriptures in 2 Nephi 32 that I love. The first one says "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." A verse later it says “For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.”

Seems redundant, but it’s not. The words of Christ will tell you what you should do. The Holy Ghost will show unto you what you should do. It is a perfect balance between what we can do (study the scriptures/words of Christ) and what God give us through grace and by the power of the HG which can communicate to us through our spiritual senses in vision, or in auditory visions, or whatever way we will understand.

Science has proven that we see less than 1% of reality. Prophets have also more or less told us this. So, for a year now I have been praying to see things as they really are, and my ability to see has grown exponentially. My daytime normal average is now 2-5% of reality but this is nothing compared to when I am in deep meditation or in a hypnosis imagery state, where I see about 40%+ of reality. (For real! And it's nothing like this reality.)

As I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to be on your death bed to have visions. You don't have to be suffering. You just have to be in an open and receptive state where you mind has let go of control and is basically like a child. Most people don’t know how to get to that state without going to sleep (or dying).

But I know how. And I know how to help people into that state easily. It begins, always, with imagination. Our imaginations are the key to so many things, not just revelation, but also to creation, and causation (causing things to happen). We are divine beings, whether we believe it or not and as such, whatever we create mentally, becomes reality—spiritually first, and then it manifests into physical reality later, in some form. (Many people use their powers of imagination for worrying. Worriers have great imaginations.)

The power of the mind and the ability to imagine is the basis for all energy/faith healing and the key to lasting change. For those who need help letting go of the distraction of the dishes in the sink, the background noise, the temptation of brownies baking, there are several things that can help. Meditation is one. Another is to have a trained guide or facilitator.

Unfortunately, not enough people have this skill or training. I think that it is more powerful than any of my other tools, except meditation, because it gives the power to the client and lets them have an experience all their own.

Ojai Valley
This has been gestating for a year, but I am now officially announcing that I will be offering a therapeutic imagery facilitator training in July of 2014. It is open to anyone who wants to learn. There are no pre-requisites required, only an open heart. I would also love to invite all licensed therapists and others already working in the healing arts to do this training and become a therapeutic imagery facilitator.

Training will be one week in July 14-18, 2014 and it will be held in Ojai, California, convenient to many beautiful vacation spots if you want to bring the whole family. My colleagues and I have both taught at an accredited college of hypnosis and trained all kinds of people in imagery from gang members to large groups of therapists. I have a payment plan and early bird pricing, so be an early bird.

If you have never taken an imagery journey and would like to try a good basic special place journey, you can download a free MP3 when you subscribe to my hypnotherapy newsletter. This will give you just a small taste of that trance state and what is possible in it. (Never listen while driving!)

Here is the link to register for the upcoming class. This will be a live class and there will be no recordings or virtual participation. In person practice with partners and is highly essential. If you are already in love with this modality and can't get enough, the answer is yes, you will get loads of personal journeys and probably work through a decade of your own stuff, too. Space is limited, so register as soon as possible.

Little Devils Riding the Information Superhighway

Most people these days think that when something they post on the internet "goes viral" that it is a good thing. Yet when your blog or website gets infected with Malware it's a bad thing and no one wants to visit your site because their computer might catch it. (We had that problem on one of my affiliated blogs recently. Some people were panicking).

Well, I am writing to tell you about another level of exposure and responsibility that come with being networked. Maybe you have heard a quintillion times that the internet can be used for good or evil. But maybe you haven't heard that the internet can the actual vehicle. The superhighway. The gate. The door that you open in your house every day.

  • Have you ever opened an email and instantly felt your energy plummet, even if there was nothing exactly negative in the email?
  • Have you ever read a friend's FB post and felt like you had been vomited on?
  • Do you feel like your energy is being drained away when you get onto social networking sites?
  • Have you ever read a blog post that made you doubt everything you know and love?
  • Have you ever had a dark/possessed person talk to you on the phone and you had to cast the devil out of your home afterward?
  • Have you every watched a youtube video or movie and then felt an insane urge to be rude or mean to someone?

I had suspected this for more than a year, but I couldn't explain it or put it into words until I had lunch with a friend this week and it all congealed.

Here it is. Everything is energy. Angels, devils, darkness, light, low vibration and high vibration and it can travel though energetic channels like the internet. Think off all the people you are connected to, and all the people they are connected to who you don't know. Great for job hunting. Not great when you think about energy vampires lurking the shadows of your connections. Ewwww.

Yes you can get a an energetic weapon thrown at you through an email. You can send a curse through a Facebook post to all of your friends unwittingly. You can open the door to the devil when you open a profile or tune into a podcast or radio show with malintent.

Of course, lots of light and love and other good things come through these same channels, so I'm not suggesting to throw it all out. In fact, that's why God is inspiring more and more people to put out more good stuff. I am not anti-technology if you haven't figured it out. I teach people all over the world through the internet. But I have been vomited on enough times just by reading a friend's FB status that I don't read anyone's status anymore and I rarely read blogs. It is true that I may be more sensitive and aware than some, but I think that everyone is sensitive. Many people may not attribute the fall in their energy from reading a low vibrating blog post or FB status, but it is taking it's toll and opening the door.

I learned this the hard way a week or two ago when I realized that I was cursed. Crazy things happened to me all day. I was trying to fly home from Idaho. It took 36 hours or something to get home and my luggage didn't make it home for 3 more days. The day got crazier and crazier. But there was always a miracle at every turn to help us, but at hour 30-something I finally felt like I might break down so I asked for prayers on FB. I should have stopped at that. I usually just ask for prayers. Minimal details. But I shared a few details and in that sharing, the energy of that curse came through. And guess what? All my friends who read that post, opened the door to that energy. My friend at lunch told me that she felt it come through and this is when I put together all that I had suspected. Sorry friends who prayed for me! I have since asked God to take it back. I can talk and write about it now because I am not currently cursed. Whew. (They didn't like the work I did in Idaho.)

Like I said, I rarely read FB statuses, but I have several FB groups that I am in charge of. One is a support group for meditators who have taken my class. One is a healer mastermind spin off from the first group. At one point, the healing group became so toxic I stopped reading it. It may be different now. But at the time, there were several people in the group who would post several times a day and it was always extremely negative venting, veiled by a request for prayers or healing advice. It is okay to ask for help and prayers from friends, but there is a fine line between asking for help and just vomiting bad energy.

So this is a loving call to everyone to examine the energy in which they post anything and to examine the energy of the posts they read and how they feel when they read or watch or listen.

Unfortunately many people with very low vibrations rarely realize that they are the problem. If you are already overloaded by the things of this world, then be compassionate on yourself. Don't try to shield yourself from any more than you have to. Your natural shield can only handle so many things per day, so save it for the things you CAN'T cut out of your life, like people you interact with every day, and eliminate the blows to your energy that you don't have to deal with. Delete the feeds you don't want to see. Delete the friends who you don't really know anyway. Don't read or watch news unless you feel genuinely inspired to. You can also forward this to others either as an explanation or as an invitation for them to delete all things cringe-worthy too.

Even if you know a post is toxic or full of lies, its low vibration, or toxic energy virus can still infect you. It is the same way this really high virbrating things. For example, some Kundalini mantras playing in the house--you may not even know what they mean, but they will still elevate you. Here is one to try. It's called Mul Mantra. It is known as the Ballad of Enlightenment. If you listen to it long enough until you know it and it plays on every cell in your body, it will eliminate depression and negativity. It is amazing and required that you push play. Sat Nam.

Pranic Sneezing and Raising the Dead

More than a year ago I read this story in 2 Kings 4 that kind of blew my mind on many levels. Some of the Ah Ha's were personal but there are also some great universals about healing and yes, about Kundalini Yoga. :)

I recommend reading the whole story and then reading the rest of my post. But here is the cliff notes version: Elisha (not to be confused with Elija) often passes through this one town and a Shunamite woman always invites him to eat with them. Then she convinces her husband to make a whole room for Elisha so that he can stay overnight whenever he passes through. She recognizes he is a man of God and wants to help him.

One day Elisha decides to bless her for her kindness and so he tells her within a year she will have a child. She basically says, "don't mess with me if you don't mean that."

Within a year she has a son. He grows up a little--old enough to help his father with the reaping. Then he complains of a headache and goes home to lie down. He dies on his mother's knees. The mother doesn't tell anyone, instead she asks for the chariots to be saddled and flies as fast as they will drive to see Elisha far away on is mountain.

When she gets there, some interesting things happen. She tells the servant, who has gone out to meet her, that all is well. But as soon as she gets into Elisha's presence, she grabs him and basically freaks out and says, why would you promise me a son and then have him die.

The servant attempts to throw her off, but Elisha says:

"Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me."

At that point in my life, I was recovering from a short-lived marriage and it was comforting to know that even prophets don't always know when some one's soul is vexed within them. Sometimes God might not tell us, for reasons of his own.

But on to the good stuff. Elisha eventually goes to the house where the boy is and performs and interesting healing. I think it is important to read it word for word here.

32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord.
34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
36 And he called Gehazi, [his servant] and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

When I read this I was fascinated by the words "stretched himself upon." I immediately thought of two things. The first was I thought of stories I had heard about Yogi Bhajan. He was a great master, and by that I mean unlike anyone you know. He had powers. And my teachers have told stories about how he had the ability to throw his aura over people and take their stuff for them--in such cases when he knew they couldn't work it out themselves--and he'd work it out of his own aura. It was a very Christ-like thing. [FYI don't try it at home. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are Yogi Bhajan.] So I thought of that and wondered if that was what he was going when it says that he stretched himself. All the cross references scriptures are interesting. Elija does a similar thing in 1 Kings, and Paul raises someone from the dead by falling on him and "embracing him."

This strikes me as some pretty advanced and also simple energy healing. It seems to me that when a highly elevated person hugs you, it can be powerful enough to raise the dead. It might take a few times of being stretched upon as it did in this story (I love that he paced in between. Almost like he was waiting for a birth. A rebirth.)

The second thing I thought of was a night a few years before when I was already on the Kundalini rocket ship and was feeling really amazing. I was lying in bed and felt a presence come and lay down on me. Not in a sexual way. More like a blanket. It was protective and loving and I thought it was the energy of someone I knew. I still don't know who it was, but I know it was helping me. So I believe that this energy healing/stretching/embracing can come from both the physical and metaphysical realm.

The next part of the passage that I found super interesting was that the boy sneezed 7 times and then opened his eyes and sat up.

I feel like nothing in the scriptures is extra. Why would it mention this? I had all kinds of hypothesis at the time and only recently did I get the final clarity. You may not be surprised that it came from Yogi Bhajan. He was talking about sneezing and Prana.

If you don't know, prana is that life force. It gives life to the universe. It is the Light of Christ. It is in all things without being those things. For example, it is in air without being air. When you die, you still have some air in your body but no prana.

So the boy was dead. No prana.

On of the best ways to take in more prana is by using the breath. Even though it is not air, it comes in on the air, so if you consciously take in more air, you take in more prana and more life force. Yogi Bhajan compares it to Atomic Power. It is that energy that keeps the atom alive! Most people don't breath adequately enough and so their health declines. But some people have a large lung capacity and a store of pranic energy in the body. There is a special place in the body where you can actually store prana. It's kind of like a metaphysical pocket in the the 8th vertebra. That vertebra is connected to the heart by way of a nerve that passes through the diaphragm.
"Your heart is just a bunch of muscles and, when the heart nerve, which comes from the eighth vertebra, must adjust the electrical energy to accommodate a change in the flow of the Ida and Pingala nerve channels, the resulting shift in praana causes you to sneeze....So if you are shy to sneeze and suppress it, you are denying the heart the electrical adjustment it needs." - Yogi Bhajan

All along I had suspected that the seven sneezes acted like a sort of defibrillator on the boys heart. And it seems it is true. The sneezes electrically adjusted his heart. But it was the shift in prana which caused the sneezing. The shift in prana is something that must have happened miraculously through Elisha's stretching himself on him, perhaps transferring prana into him.
"A developed pranaic cavity can give healing power: 'Moment you will concentrate on that person and you have (control the) praanic cavity, your praanas will pass to the being. This is automatic and he will immediately feel the effect.'" - Yogi Bhajan quoted in Praana Praanee Pranayam 16-17
This reminds me of a quote from Parley P. Pratt about "spiritual fluid." If you don't understand praana the words "holy fluid" seem strange, but that is what he called it. It is clear to me though that he is talking about prana or the Light of Christ.

"The spiritual or holy fluid conveys itself, through certain channels, from one body to another in accordance with certain legitimate laws. The usual channel for all spiritual fluids whether holy or impure, in their operations upon the human system, or in their passage from one animal body to another is the nerves. A person commissioned of Jesus Christ and filled with this spiritual substance, can impart of the same to another, provided there is a preparation of heart and faith on the part of the receiver." - Key to the Science of Theology 110
That is all for today. Hopefully it inspired you to respire consciously and be a person with a huge lung capacity and praanic stores to spare.

Sat Nam. Keep up!

Tied Up in Glendale?

There is someone God wants me to meet. I am not sure why or who this person is but I have known for several months now that we must meet, and the only information I have is that this person is currently "tied up in Glendale."

Upon further meditation it turns out it is not Glendale, California. Hmmm..... I looked it up and there are 35 cities called Glendale in the world. There are also neighborhoods and likely a few gated communities called Glendale. There could also be an SS Glendale sailing around the world. Who knows? Glendale could also be a prison--hence the tied up part. It could also be a corporation or an apartment complex. Or a stock that this person has tied all their money in. I am beginning to laugh at all the possibilities.

I am used to getting information on a need to know basis, but I feel like I am supposed to do something about this, yet I have no idea what. I feel completely at a loss and helpless to solve this mystery.

At long last I realized it is not my mystery to solve. The intention was for someone else to solve it for me or to come find me. So even though it is a long shot, I am putting this out there. If you are "tied up in Glendale," or possibly "Glen Dale" then I would be very happy to hear from you. If you know someone else who is, please pass it on.

What We Did This Week

My daughter, the shining light of my life, turned 8 years old on Monday and got baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She made this choice and was really excited about it. I wish you could have all seen her happy face. She was so excited to be doing what Jesus did. We don't have a font at our local building so most people do it in someone's pool. Her best friend's dad and our bishop baptized her. Half the ward came to support her. There were cars parked all up the road you would have thought it was a celebrity wedding. Mother was there in spirit and some of the guest could feel her there too. It was a perfect day in every way.
About the take the plunge.

Kelsey 1.0 Her best babysitter

Home teacher on the left. The guy on the right was actually my mom's OB when she was pregnant with me!

Afterwards. Doesn't she look like an angel? I kind of adore her.

Back up mom.

Buddy, the dog, was proud of her too. Kid on the left was her uber crush last year. Not sure about this coming year.

Birthday dinner afterwards.

Missionary Monday: Sister C's Thoughts on Abish and Other Things

So I got this a few weeks ago from my lovely new friend, Sister C who is currently serving an LDS mission on the East Cost (USA) and has found the joy of Kundalini Yoga and meditation while on her mission. Hooray! She emailed me these insights and I love them. I have capitolized a few things and changed it from one long paragraph to several (She had to type fast.) but left it much in her voice. I love these insights and I added a few thoughts in brackets in purple and at the end, but if you love Sister C after you read this, you are not the only one.

I'm going to try and type out what I learned. But I don't have my scriptures or my journal because we walked to the computer lab today after our hike to the waterfalls. I did some yoga on the rocks and accidentally fell in--oops ;) Anyways, I did kundalini meditation and then I studied. I am currently reading in Alma.
I read the chapter where Ammon converts king Lamoni. It was great and uplifting and lots of insights on how to teach and all of those things. Well when I studied it after my meditation it was completely different! And AMAZING. I feel like Abish was almost in the room with me! So my interpretation of it all is this...
First though some background: [If you don't know this scripture story you can read it in Alma 17-19. Link is here] this is after Ammon had served the king, and cut the arms off of the men who scattered the sheep--which I also think is very symbolic and I have been studying that for quite some time. The scriptures often talk about "extending his arm" and how Christ's arm is always extended. So I had been studying this for quite sometime now leading up to this study--and I really think that when it talks about their arm being extended its a symbol of exercising priesthood.... So ammon teaches king lamoni and he is over come by the Spirit and becomes unconscious. [In a state of religious ecstasy is probably a better explanation for what happened. religious ecstasy is defined as an altered state of consciousness in which the body and outward senses are not really active, but there is great inward expasion, visions, etc. But it appeared to others to be unconscious. This state of religious ecstasy is no uncommon among experienced meditators and even beginning meditators]
So the queen, whose best friend was Abish, has to face this trial of her husband being unconscious. People are telling her that he is dead and he should be buried. But she comes to Ammon. The scriptures explain the queens opinion when they say "Therefore, what the queen desired of him was his only desire" so she comes to Ammon, not desiring that he would rise the king, just desiring what Ammon would desire because she knew that he was a man of God, so they discuss this and Ammon blesses her and tells her you will be so blessed! You have more faith than any other Nephite. And the Nephites have been converted for years and this woman exercising her faith.. and through the trial of her faith was blessed by Ammon.. and she had moral authority.. so she waits for her king to rise and he does rise and the FIRST thing he does when he rises is extend his arm to her! and begins to testify of what he just experienced.. so then the queen and the king and the servants all become unconscious. and Ammon is "prostrate upon the ground"
Side note... um why don't we ever bow in our church?? its an amazing feeling to just bow down and become prostrate upon the earth.. anyways.
[I totally agree! I love bowing!]
So then Abish comes into play.. and Abish was an amazing woman.. who had an amazing patriarch in her home--her father! and she became converted because of the things that her father had taught her. So Abish has been converted for years. It says "save it were one of the Lamanitish women, whose name was Abish, she having been converted unto the Lord for many years, on account of a remarkable vision of her father—"
So I believe that the reason the queen was so prepared for this experience was because of Abish. ABISH KNEW THE TRUTH!! and she understood that MEDITATION WAS THE KEY that it was one of the most secret most sacred doors through which we pass into the presence of the Lord. But she silently persevered. and she totally obtained the Christ like attribute of long suffering. so then after years of patiently waiting to share all she knew.. all these people become unconscious. and she knows its of God so she takes this opportunity to share what she knows. So she runs from house to house and is yelling and screaming and trying to gather this multitude so they can understand what she understands.. and they tell her that shes crazy and that its of satan and say mean hurtful things.
And so this poor woman who was trying so hard to fulfill her purpose and to be who the Lord wanted her to be and was trying so hard to bring light to these people who so bitterly rejected it--she just begins to cry.. and all that she can think to do is go to the queen.. and she extends her arm and grabs the queens hand. AND THE QUEEN RISES!!
And then the queen extends her hand to the king and he rises!! and then he testifies and teaches this multitude. and these people become converted and a church is established and a NATION is changed!! because of Abish and her long suffering and patience and diligence and boldness and bravery!! and then it ends with "thus the Lord did begin to pour out his Spirit upon them; and we see that his arm is extended to all people who will repent and believe on his name." I believe that those women exercised their priesthood that day.
It gave me much comfort to be able to relate to Abish. I'm sure we were great friends once.
Anyways. THANK YOU. You have given me so much. I don't know how I could ever thank you enough.. but today I had a "real pleasure" and I went hiking with my district And my district leader asked if I'd give a council on meditation! cool huh? I'll send some pics of Elder Richins and myself meditating on some tree roots. I love you! thank you thank you. SAT NAM.

I love her thoughts on the arm being extended. I have been thinking much lately of all the scriputres that talk about extending one's arms while praying, which constitutes a mudra. There are many mudras that include raised hands. This is just one of the goodies:
Ego Erradicator

One of the great things about extending the arms is that it physically opens the heart center. But this is not just physical of course. I love this scripture in Job.

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him; (Job 11:13) \

I wrote about this outstretched arm thing more in my forthcoming book, but I love it could also symbolize the priesthood. So  much to ponder. Love this girl.

Flying Yoga

This is a cute video I took of my friend's kids. They seem to know intuitively that yoga can give them super powers.

I'm pretty sure she remembers being able to fly and coming into this mortal body has been a huge disappointment for her. She is working it out. :)

In Route

This is from yesterday. Though I haven't had much time to blog on this trip, you can expect a deluge as soon as I get home. Until then, you get video blogs. Sat Nam

Pictures from Kelly Canyon Retreat

Here are just a few pictures from the retreat last weekend at the Kelly Canyon Ski Lodge. It was beautiful. You are beautiful. Today I am heading to Boise (other side of the state) to spread more of the joy.

Adventures in Idaho

I'm in Idaho. This weekend I taught a retreat in Kelly Canyon (near Idaho Falls). About 30 people came, about 1/5 of them were men. Woohoo. About 1/3 of the attendees were totally new to Kundalini Yoga but so open and ready because they have seen their friends and family change and grow and glow. From what I can tell, everyone had a good time and left feeling awesome and purified and made many new friends.

I don't have pictures yet because I was busy the whole time, but as soon as my photographer sends them or someone else sends some I will share them.

Here is just one of many cool things I heard while I was there. One woman told me: "In the last year since beginning this journey our family income has gone up by 10 times." This is so cool because I can see that she and her husband are doing good things with their resources. That's what we need. More awake people with more resources to use consciously. This is an un-veiled plug for my prosperity series.

After the retreat I started to get a headache and so I got a priesthood blessing from two of the men who had been there, a father and son. It was really cool because as soon as they put their hands on my head I felt this energy in my ears like I had to itch them really bad and then it was like something was coming out of them. And my headache went away instantly.

I told them about it afterward and Landon said: "There is a very specific feeling that I have when I am officiating in the priesthood and I always feel it, and I have never felt it any other time except when I meditate."

That is roughly what he said. It was really cool to hear that. I have been trying to find out just how priesthood holders who do it feel about Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, but this was just spontaneously offered and I was so grateful and happy to hear that.

I asked him write it down so I can put it in my book. We need more priesthood holders to meditate! It's powerful and it only increased their purity and intuition and power.

Speaking of my book. I FINALLY heard back from KRI with the review of my book and there are something that I need to edit and change and I haven't read through everything yet but hopefully I can get the corrections done and retake a few photos while I am here and get it moving forward. So now is the time to donate to the gofundme page if you haven't because I am still short about 2000 dollars to get it off the ground.

Now back to the retreat. I was so excited to meet the family of Sister C, who I call my missionary. I met her mom, sister, and aunt. If you don't know about my missionary, read this. Sister C is awesome and I want to share some things she has emailed me, but I will share them in another blog post. She was recently asked by her mission president to teach all the missionaries in their area about meditation! I heard it was awesome. I'll get more details on that to share with you soon.

Phoebe came with me to the retreat and basically ran the kids camp. She has been having so much fun on this trip. She has spent time pretending to be a dog (we put her plate on the floor and give her a water dish), she got to ride a horse, and at kids camp she got so filthy dirty catching grasshoppers and hiking that I think it must mean she had a good time.

Here is the only picture I have thought to take myself this trip. I have been taking many mental pictures but I can't really share those with you right now. If you took pictures this weekend send them to me! Sat Nam
