Let's Clear Up Some Things About God's Timing

I become so bored of people talking about God's timing. It's true that here on earth there is a time to reap and a time to sow and all that. But when it comes to God and his answers to your prayers, etc, there is no time difference. You ask in faith and in the right way and God answers your prayers--in the best way possible and immediately. He doesn't pause to think about it. He doesn't wait 20 years. There is no time delay. It's immediate. The only thing that makes it seem like it is not immediate is the human mind.

Sure there are those scriptures in Abraham about the reckoning of time on the planet Kolob (where God reportedly lives) and how one day there is about 1000 years here. While it may be true that time is reckoned differently on that planet, it is also true that God is not subject to time. All things are present before him and he knows them all. (Moses 1:6) In a way that our minds have difficulty understanding, he can see past present and future all as one.

It is we who must expand our consciousness to realize that we have already been given every blessing. We just have to alter our mental state to connect with it (know it) and bring into physical manifestation. How long that takes depends on us and our willingness to do the spiritual work.

Timing is a tricky thing. Even for Joseph Smith--it took him a long time to realize and accept that building Zion in Missouri wasn't going to happen in his life time. Was he just wrong about God's timing? I don't think so. I think the early Saints just went a different direction. They couldn't or wouldn't do the spiritual work to be a Zion society. But it doesn't change the fact that Zion is already built on that spot. (Joseph could see it.) We just have to manifest it into our physical reality by connecting with it first in our consciousness.

I can tell you one thing though, it isn't going to happen by complaining about God's timing, or doing nothing and waiting around.

As one of my teachers, Guru Singh says, you can walk along the shore pretending you are swimming for as long as you want. Maybe you will never jump in till you are 80 years old. But when you finally do jump in the water, it will feel like you could have done it all along. But it will also feel like the right time. The scriptures say God's timing is perfect. And it is, because He makes it seem perfect for you when you do.

So, do whatever. Just keep pretending or jump in. But don't let me hear you using God's timing as an excuse.

My Astro Download Part 2

Read part 1 here.

I'm just going to jump in assuming that you have read the previous posts.

A typical natal chart looks something like this. Ignore the ad (I don't endorse that yellow jar-headed guy.):

It's a blueprint of the exact position of all the constellations and planets at the moment of your birth from the exact latitude and longitude of your birth. That's pretty cool if you ask me. It involves some pretty complex math so be grateful for apps and software that can do it for you.

It usually comes with a short had explanation that looks sort of like this.

The most important things in there for now are the Ascendant (also known as your Rising sign), and the Moon. We covered the sun sign yesterday. It is determined by your month of birth--only in the Hebrew calendar, which is a Lunar-Solar Calendar. So everything on the above table is correct except the sun sign. In the above picture, the sun sign is not shown because it is scrolled up top, but it says it is Libra. But in actuallity for that date of that year, it happened to fall on the Hebrew calendar under Scorpio instead of Libra.

Your rising sign (Ascendant) is determined by what constellation the sun was in at the moment of your birth. In this chart it is in cancer. Your moon is determined by what constellation the moon was in at the moment of your birth. In this chart it is in Scorpio.

Your sun sign as we discussed gives you a lot of general personality traits about a person as well as their weaknesses and challenges.

The Rising Sign is important because it indicates the tools that the universe has given you to deal with your sun sign, though it can also affect your personality in negative ways and comes with warnings if you don't use your tools.

Your moon sign is your reactive system. It indicates how a person will react to things.

So for example, if you are a Taurus with Cancer rising, you will have the emotional, nurturing nature of cancer to help you be more caring, as well as Cancer's legendary intuition to help you face reality. If you have Aires rising, the fire of Aires can help Taurus get out and take more risks.

If you are Taurus with Taurus rising, basically the universe is not giving you any tools. Ha! But don't despair. There are other tools within the chart. That's for a more advanced course.

There are certain combinations of signs that can be very favorable and others that seem to clash and that person will usually have a very difficult life and a very intense personality. For example, a Scorpio moon is a very difficult moon to have because Scropio is so intense and complex. It is a water sign but its internal energy is fire--two opposite elements. Scorpios are mighty warriors, and intuitive, but they can also be very critical and not give second chances. Famous Scorpios include Biblical King David.

As I learn more about each sign from a spiritually based standpoint, I am learning so much. I used to dabble in astrology and I could tell people who were certain signs (Geminis are easy to spot, for instance.) But now I can spot most of the signs quickly and I have an understanding of what motivates this person, what they came here for, and how I can help them, and how I should talk to them. This helps me as a teacher because I am here to elevate people.

Which brings me to the good stuff. The above natal chart is actually mine. Or used to be. I always thought I was a Libra, which I fancied. But it turns out I was a Scropio with a Cancer Rising and a Scorpio Moon. That is a lot of the water element, and one of the most intense moons.

But as I wrote in an earlier post, Yogi Bhajan said we could rewrite our natal chart and change our destiny through Kundalini Yoga. I never got how this exactly could happen until I got into Jewish Astrology, which goes back to Abraham. But in truth LDS scholars and astronomers like John Pratt know that the Zodiac was fist given to Enoch, but let's start with Abraham because his story is most interesting.

Abram was a master of both astrology and astronomy. He knew the stars planets and how they were formed and he understood their internal energy. He also knew his own chart and knew that having children was not in his destiny, nor Sarai's. But God said to him, Abram, "go outside" and count the stars, and such will be the number of your seed. (I paraphrase.) By "go outside" God is not just inviting him to step out of his house/tent. He is inviting him to go outside of human consciousness and expand it to the reality where you can influence the stars.

And then he told him, from this day forward you shall be known as Abraham. And Sarai got a name change to Sarah. The name change basically created a rebirth and a new identity. God also invited him to go outside and look at the stars because as of that moment, Abraham had to make new natal charts for both he and Sarah.

Name changes are used many times throughout the scriptures to rewrite a person's destiny.

For example, Hoshea was renamed Joshua
Saul was renamed Paul
Simon was renamed Peter
Abram became Abraham
Jacob became Israel
Eliakim renamed Jehoiakim
"The woman" became known as Eve

And there are loads more. Some changed by God, Jesus, apostles and their King.

Of course, just going to the courthouse and changing your name is not going to do it. Courts on earth mean nothing to God. And just applying for a spiritual name doesn't guarantee anything either. A new name has to be earned through spiritual upleveling.

When I put all this together, I realized what has happened in my own life. I never felt that I wanted a Kundalini Spiritual name in 7 years of practice, but last year I suddenly felt that it was time. God told me I needed to be someone new and to go ahead and get one. So I requested a spiritual name and it came a few days later. I loved it and started using it immediately, but only recently do I realize just how important that was.

I went back and looked at the date stamp on that email and made a new natal chart. I still don't understand it all, but the good news is that I went from having one of the least favorable moons to having a very favorable moon in Libra. My Sun Sign now is Cancer, which is one of the most intuitive signs. The intuition of a Cancer is legendary. My rising sign is now Scorpio, which makes sense that since I had so much Scorpio before I'd have the corrected Scorpio now as my tool kit. The corrected Scorpio, by the way, is compared to an eagle, who sees everything, but flies high above it and doesn't get involved in drama. They are also very intuitive. So that is a double bonus.

I looked back in my journal to see what I was doing the day I received my spiritual name and I found that I had just started a new journal the day after I got my name. The entry said:

Had dreams last night. I woke before my alarm feeling very refreshed despite a late bedtime. The feeling was that something wonderful has happened in me. I'm not sure what. The angels definitely worked on me last night....

Looking back, I see that since that date in June I have a whole new life. "Charmed" is not the right word for it, but it is amazingly better than before and much different than most people I know. My friend Robyn says I live like the apostles of old. Ha! Well, I still have to take out my own garbage and put gas in my car and I am not impervious to heat or hunger or cold or headaches (yet), but I don't worry or fear. I am full of love and most days, I walk with grace.

seven-ish years ago
A few months after my name change. Can you see the difference? It's in the eyes.
They used to look inward. Now they look outward and are full of light! Amazing.

I don't think that getting a name change is part of everyone's destiny. Some people just need to be corrected under the sign they are. But just so you know--if your life has been really intense, you can elevate yourself through meditation and loving your neighbor, and get a totally different life. You can create a destiny where there was none.

That's all for now. More to come. Sat Nam.

Post Script:

Some people want to know if the new name people get a part of religious ceremonies could be a kind of rebirth. My answer is that I can't speak for everyone. It is possible, but that name has different purposes and and it is not something you go by from then on. Abraham was told "from now on you shall be known as..."Of course, there could be way more here for some people, but not for all. I'm leaving it to you to do your own investigation and praying about it.

The other question is about marriage. Marriage sometimes includes a name change for women, and sometimes for men too. It definitely involves a title change, but whether this corresponds with spiritual upleveling is something to be examined.

Sat Nam.

My Astro Download Part 1

Back in April I started my astro journey. I got a clear message that I should learn all I could about astrology. Yes, astrology. The journey led to a bunch of dead ends. I found some cool articles by John Pratt about how the Zodiac testifies of Christ, but as far as crossing that knowledge over to astrology or natal charts and why I should know about them, I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere.

Then God drove my car to Bart's Books (the coolest used book store in the world) and I wandered into the Astrology section. There were lots of books, but one on Jewish Astrology and Kabbalah called The Star Connection seemed to have a spot light on it. It needed me to buy it immediately.

I started the book that night and felt like my mind was being blown into two universes. I understood it on some level, but I felt sure that I could never explain it to anyone. Then a few weeks later I picked it up again and maybe the meditation to increase my IQ worked, because that time, it made perfect sense. (More on that meditation soon. I promise. It's super important.)

I devoured it with the overall feeling of "this is the missing link." And then I signed up for Kabbalah University online and watched hours of videos of Yael Yardeni. She is a teacher at Kabbalah University and a world renowned Kabbalistic Astrologer. I have a super huge crush on her.

For a few weeks my brain has been sorting and mixing and matching it with all my experience and knowledge of Kundlini Yoga and  also the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I will attempt to put it in simple terms in a few blog posts.

First off, if you don't know, Kabbalah is a body of teachings considered Jewish mysticism. The root of the word mysticism is mystery. A mystic is anyone who is attempting to understand the mysteries of God. That would be me. And probably you too.

People who study Kabbalah are going to be concerned with several books: One is the Book of Formations, which was reportedly written by the Patriarch Abraham. It is a very old book. And it is all about the stars and the planets and how God created everything with the word, and contains a lot of the foundations of Jewish Astrology.

The other main Kabbalistic text is the Zohar. The Zohar is 23 volumes. It's massive. It was revealed to Rabbi Shimon bar Yohai and his son Rabbi Elazar when they were in hiding from the Romans (in the second century CE) in a cave (what is it with caves?). They were taught through visits several times per day from the prophet Elijah and also from Moses (both translated beings). I don't know how long these personal tutoring sessions went on, but it was long enough to fill 23 volumes.

I am not saying if it is true or not, but I am saying it doesn't sound unlike those two (Moses and Elijah) to appear together at critical places (to Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, and to Joseph Smith, just to name a couple).

The Kabbalah is one of those things that has a past similar to Kundalini Yoga. It was hidden, passed on only from master to student rather secretly for generations and is only recently become available to all. That is the cliff notes background on Kabbalah. If you want more, google or go to the Kabbalah Center website.

For now, here is a beginning of what I learned about astrology and have put together with my own inspired LDS interpretation that I feel is relevant for everyone to know.

First of all, birth dates matter. We celebrate birth dates not just to track our age, but to keep the date in our memory. Time and location of birth also matter, because these things determine a person's natal chart. The natal chart, I have come to realize, is as important as many people view their Patriarchal Blessing, because these charts can give us insight into our destiny, our gifts, they can warn us of pitfalls, and give us a spiritual road map.

The biggest differences between Jewish and conventional astrology are:

1) The stars impel but don't compel. A person is not the way they are because they were born under a certain sign. They are actually born under a certain sign because of the way they already were and the decisions they made before they came. (Kabbalists believe in reincarnation. I believe in a pre-earth life where we made choices that effect our destiny.)

People are born under certain planetary influences because those are the circumstances that are best going to teach them what they need to learn. The Kabbalists call this the "tikune." Tikune means correction. We all come to achieve a correction, to complete some karma or contract, and learn certain things.

Thus, from a person's natal chart, we can learn a lot about a person's personality, why they are here, some possible challenges they may face as well some gifts they are given and need to use. A person's chart can also help give them spiritual goals. By doing their spiritual work and expanding consciousness through meditation, a person is able to achieve their correction. They can avoid the negative influence and fates written in the stars and can become all the good things and none of the negatives that their sign contains. Then you would say they became a "corrected" Taurus (or whatever sign). And in some cases, a person can completely rewrite their destiny and get a whole new natal chart. More on this in a future post.

I love this picture because the man is going outside of "reality" to see what is really there.

2) The second major difference between Kabbalistic and conventional astrology that people should know about is that the calendar is different. Instead of the Gregorian solar calendar, the Hebrew lunar-solar calendar is used. It is too long to explain in this post, but once you understand it, it makes way more sense than using the Gregorian calendar because the signs correspond to months that begin at each new moon rather than seemingly arbitrary dates as in conventional western astrology. Also, this Hebrew calendar is the one that Jews have been using since forever, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.

Why this calendar thing is important is because once you do a date calculation, you may find that you are not the sign that you thought you were. And it will probably make a lot more sense. (Your rising and moon signs and everything else about your natal chart would still remain the same. I will write more on rising and moon signs in my next post.)  So if you want to know what sign you really are, I suggest getting an app like the Kabbalistic Calendar with a date converter.

3) The third thing to know about the difference between conventional and Kabbalistic astrology is that it is not just about the external planetary forces. It is about the internal energy of the planets and signs. And this internal energy is the seed level that influences and is influenced by human behavior. More on this later.

An Example - Taurus

To give an example of what the kind of insights and spiritual goals we can learn from our astrological sign, I will talk about Taurus as an example. (The rising sign and moon sign are also very important, but for now I will only cover the sun sign). I picked Taurus randomly. Sort of. Ok not randomly at all. I have a secret motive but I'll keep that my secret.

Taurus is the sign of the Bull. In John Pratt's article he shows us that the Bull is symbolic of Christ's role as the Lord of Hosts. The white Bull is an extinct type of wild ox. They had long horns and sometimes, in the scriptures, when it refers to unicorns, it was actually referring to the white Bull. Here is what John Pratt says about it.
"The Book of Enoch makes it clear that the white Bull represents the Kingdom of God in the last days, and Moses refers to its two horns as pushing together the thousands of Manasseh and the ten thousands of Ephraim."
Taurus is associated with the Hebrew month of Iyar.  This is known to be a difficult month because the light is hidden and you have to go look for it. But it is the month of the year associated with all healings and many Tauruses are in the medical profession or make great healers in other ways.

Taurus is an earth sign, but it's internal energy is fire. It is the fire of the earth. Like a volcano. Taurus is like that. They can be dormant for a long time and usually are a very emotionally balanced sign, but they can also explode. The anger of a Taurus is legendary. It is not like the anger of Aires, which usually only lasts a few minutes. The reason the Taurus will sometimes blow is because they can live in denial for too long, which I will explain.

Taurus is  motivated by comfort and security. They like the finer things in life. They are in love with love but often very confused about what love is. They are ruled by the planet Venus and so really appreciate love and beauty. They always look for peace and are non-confrontational. But at what price? Often the price is that they are living in denial. They often don't speak their mind. Over time this is not good.

They are good with money-- attracting it, managing it and manifesting it. Which is good since they have expensive tastes and are motivated by comfort.

Their biggest fear is change. They do not like change. If it works, keep it the same. They don't like to take risks. Change risks that things could be worse and they don't like to be out of their comfort zone. Because of this, Tauruses often settle for a lot less, and laziness can be an issue.

They have a reputation for being stubborn, but it is really because they fear change, and so they can get fixed in their ideas. Forty percent of the worlds dictators were Taurus. So you can see that when they get fixed in their ideas, they can be very judgmental indeed. (Incidentally another 40% are Leo, but for different reasons.)

Tauruses are known for their great voices, so if you are Taurus make sure you sing or chant mantras and bless those around you with your voice.

Tauruses can seem cold on the outside but are deeply romantic in their hearts. They care and care, but sometimes only to the limit of their comfort zone. Being an earth sign they also tend to move very slowly. If you are in a relationship with a Taurus, be patient and encourage them to take more risks, but when talking about change, never use the word change. Talk to them about improvement and making things better. Speak about softness and love.

The organ associated with Taurus is the throat and thyroid. This can be a vulnerability for them, because they don't speak their mind. (I'll talk more about organs in another post.)

Some Spiritual Goals for a Taurus:

1) Be more open to unconditional love, without judgement and out of your comfort zone.
2) Push yourself to fulfill a larger desire. Don't settle for less for the sake of peace. We came here to receive as much light as we can. Think about the world and the global good. Confront reality. See how the world really is and how you can make it better.
3) Care out of your comfort zone. Contrary to belief, it is care that brings love and not the reverse. The more we care, the more light we get.
4) Learn to express yourself. Say what you think rather than suppressing for the sake of peace. It can often make things better.

For those with friends or loved ones who are Taurus, encourage them to confront reality, express themselves and to take more risks.

A good example of two very different Tauruses are Adolf Hitler (dictator) and Oscar Schindler (Schindler's List). Schindler enjoyed luxury and women and nice wine. He could have stayed in his comfort zone and ridden the war out and made a lot of money. But he answered the higher call and went out of his comfort zone and took many risks to save as many Jews as he could during World War 2. So Tauruses can handle the energy of getting out of their comfort zone and can be great humanitarians and healers, but they sometimes need help getting there.

So, Tauruses, work on yourselves.

Everyone else is also invited to work on yourselves, too. Till next time. Sat Nam.

Not long ago, in a waking vision, the matchmaker, Yenta, from Fiddler on the Roof came to me and told me she had a match for me. She was singing about how he was handsome and rich. It was funny. God often speaks to me in movie lines. I waved her off. Handsome and rich is great, but how was he on his axis? She seemed to know what I meant and showed me a man having an Alma-like experience. "He is getting the download now," she said, in a thick Russian accent.

My life is strange sometimes. For those who have been wondering about Project True Love Reprise, this is how it has gone. It has been nothing like the last PTL. I thought I would date a lot, but this time, it seems that the angels are doing all the work in the background to bring me my most compatible soul mate. I don't have to do much, except work on myself and wait and watch it unfold. Lately there has been some interesting unfolding--mostly in metaphysical realms. I feel very in love, but on the terrestrial plane it would appear that I have no partner. Yet.

If you were wondering, this soul mate is the one who was "tied up in Glendale." I still don't know what that means, and I don't think I know who he is, but I have a feeling he is less tied up now. So that's good. I hope. When I know more than this, I might share it. Or not. But till then, please pray for my most compatible soul mate.

And if you think it's you or you have been secretly in love with me for years and never said anything, for whatever reason, well, now might be one of the last times I will be single. So... I'm just saying.

What Is Knowing?

“Quantum physics shows us that what we can visualize actually is what we can see. Our mental picture of the universe and how the universe appears to us basically are one and the same. The world of thought is not isolated from the physical world but, on the contrary is closely bound up in it.” --Rabbi Phillip S. Berg

Here are some insights from a recent download:

Nothing can be revealed unless it is first concealed. For example, at a human social level a person cannot reveal himself in public without first being concealed in clothing.

Our birth on earth was a revealment of our spirit and intelligences in human mortal form. But our birth also concealed many things about the reality of the universe. Many layers make up what we call "the veil." Yet when one delves into the inner essence of things, these layers are revealed.

In order to achieve this we must not merely have information, we must know

The Jews understood the biblical distinction about knowing. The only time information becomes knowing is when direct contact has been made with the information sought.

"And Adam knew his wife."

Knowing in biblical terms mean that direct contact is made. Experience creates knowing.

Sometimes we think we know. Man has made contact with the moon. But man cannot directly touch the moon. Even if he goes there with all that science has to offer, he is still in a space suit and can't directly touch it or know anything about it's inner essence.

However, through expanded consciousness, anything is possible, even direct contact with the moon.

As the quote at the top suggests, we can only see that which we can visualize. Therefore, expanding our consciousness and connecting to the great endless wisdom, allows us to see more of reality.

The Kabbalah teaches that there are essentially 4 realities on this terrestrial plane: inanimate, vegetable, animal, and human. All have intelligence. Some are mobile. But only humans have higher levels of consciousness

Man can think about past, present, future, etc. He can even observe himself thinking. This mobility of both psyche and of  body are what allow for expanded consciousness. When you think of the word expanded, you can think what might happen if you expanded your orbit. If a man walked into a different city or neighborhood, he might experience all kinds of new things. Man can also do this with his mind. He can expand it into realms he hasn't been before through certain types of meditation, especially guided imagery.
By this means, instant transfer and communication is possible across the galaxy and to other galaxies as well at faster than speed of light. Man can connect with angels, with God, with his own soul, and the inner essence of other things and people, with past and future, and so much more.

Humans are also unique in the ability to articulate speech. Speech is key. God created the cosmos with a word, and that power, (diluted somewhat by our own ego and impurities) was passed on to his creatures.  We must be very careful with this power. Many of us, when we talk about what we do not want to happen actually create most of our tragedies. Words, in a very real sense, become deeds.

With imagery we can use the power of the word to help the client expand their consciousness and connect with (know/experience) the Light (Wisdom/ God Jesus Christ, you name it) by guiding their mind and imagination. The imagination responds to words. Words create images. The imagery master, throughout time has had different titles: shaman, prophet, poet, rabbi, therapist, guide, mystic, and more.

Prophet Isaiah by Marc Chagall

Since the dawn of time, very awakened people knew that every event, every action, every idea is connected through the human mind the network that is the cosmos. They knew that consciousness plays a deciding role in the nature of our physical reality. Purity of consciousness creating the ultimate fullness of joy reality.

Purity of consciousness is achieved by converting the desire to receive for the self alone to a desire to receive to share. Love Your Neighbor. This is straight out of every religion's scriptures.

The energy of the terrestrial sphere is very negative. This is where Satan can and does (for now) pretend he is the God of this world. In order to free ourselves from the negative energy, we need to connect with the positive energy through expanding our consciousness beyond the five senses, connecting, knowing

Modern science, the deeper they get into things, has discovered that the the only thing they know for certain is that there is uncertainty in science. Everything we thought we knew has exceptions, or is constantly changing. Also, they have proven that observing changes the observed.

I love that Elder Holland, one of the 12 apostles of the LDS church, said this at the last General Conference of the church:
"I am more certain that those keys have been restored and that those ordinances are once again available through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints than I am certain I stand before you at this pulpit and you sit before me in this conference."

The five sense will always lead us into the illusion. But when we use mind power, the word, and pure intent to share, we can know the mysteries of God, and thus change our reality and destiny.

Introducing the Jedis

Last year I had a lot of requests from people who wanted to learn to teach Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan (R) but who wanted to train with me. I looked into becoming a teacher trainer through KRI and what I realized is that to become a KRI teacher trainer would take years and years of climbing yogi ladders and bazillions of hours, which I don't need to spend away from my daughter. But after a talk with my teacher trainer and a talk with Yogi Bhajan (in his astral form) and also to God, I felt like I should just train people anyway, and not call it a teacher training, but merely a mentorship.

Yogi Bhajan said that every student should be a teacher, and even if you only know one meditation, you should teach it. I know many of my students are teaching their family and friends and some will tell anyone on the street about it. And I figured I could equip those who were serious with tools to do so in an even better way.

It is amazing who was led to me and how I knew they were going to be a jedi. Others applied but I didn't feel it was right or their time. In the end I trained nine Jedis. The mentorship was 6 months. It was a wonderful time and I loved seeing them grown and begin to teach where God led them. Several of them lead addiction recovery groups. Others live in places where there is absolutely no access to Kundalini Yoga except what they are now offering. Others will be teaching online. Several of them are going on to do a full 220 hour Level 1 teacher training in their area as new areas are opening up.

I wanted to introduce several of them here. Some are teaching, others aren't yet, but they are blogging. All of them I would endorse as epic teachers with a deep respect and understanding of the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, and who also teach from a Christ-centered LDS perspective.

Jessica is in Chicago but teaches online mostly to people in Boise. Go figure. Here is her FB page.

Kalyan Kaur
Kalyan Kaur (Janice) teaches in Pocatello Idaho every Tuesday night. Her FB page is

Siri Dharma Kaur

Siri Dharma Kaur (Katy) is in Rexburg Idaho. She is teaching a Moonlight Yoga For Women weekly Saturday evening class at a counseling center location in Rexburg. This class will follow up on the 12 steps of ARP. Everyone (female) is welcome. She will be teaching a pregnancy yoga class series, too. She is also a Theta healer and Hypnobabies instructor. So she has your bases covered. Her website is Be Still Services.

Nancy Holbrook

Nancy is in Honolulu, Hawaii and just had a baby, but will start up teaching again soon. When she gets her info ready I will add it here. In the mean time, if you want to contact her, you can email me or find her on Facebook.

Akashpreet Kaur

Akashpreet Kaur (Hannah) is in England and blogs at: 5 in the Bed. It's her family blog, but there will be more about Kundalini Yoga as the days go by.

Sarah is also in England and has started blogging at and has a youtube channel of the same name.

The other Jedis are still working on finishing requirements, but when they are ready, I will add them to this list. Sat Nam.

Imagery Improvements!

This week I was scheduled to teach people how to facilitate Therapeutic Imagery on people this week, in Ojai. 5 days of "trance-formation." But a few weeks before I noticed that all the people who were supposed to be here were having a lot of interference. I started praying for them. For me. I started wondering if I was supposed to cancel it or postpone it. Then finally, a week before, I decided to postpone it, because most of the people who I KNEW were supposed to be here (you know who you are), weren't able to get things worked out. And those who had already paid were flexible. So I decided to postpone it! Even though when I planned it, it felt like the right time and place, it suddenly no longer was.

As soon as I cancelled it, I felt a relief and like a did the right thing. Then I started having HUGE downloads. I'm talking HUGE. Like super huge mysteries of God unfolding and blowing my mind. Some of it has to do with my astrology/astronomy journey, but also about the use of imagery to facilitate God's work. Then I realized that the whole training needs to be a little different and include some of these downloads.

I realized that the Lake of Despair of the previous month was Satan trying to keep me from this big uplevel.

Back to imagery training. There was one person who had already signed up and bought tickets who decided that she was going to come anyway and work one on one with me. I love that she just came anyway. Apparently, for her, it was the right time and place. But she was the only one. So we did just that. It was a lot like a private retreat/intensive breakthrough session. We stopped occasionally to eat berry pie or juicy nectarines. And I realized that I should do more private retreats/breakthrough weekends. Now that I have a vacation rental right behind my house. It would work out nicely.

But back to imagery training. I have decided to break the training up into a foundations weekend course and then teach other modules later. Hopefully some of these can be taught online, but the Foundation Course has to be taught in person. I will be teaching it in Park City, Utah on September 11-13, 2014. (Yes my ban on going to Utah has apparently ended. It just feels like the right place this time.)

It is a central location to lots of people coming from all over and it is super quiet and cheaper to stay there in the summer than in Provo or Ogden or Salt Lake. Also, since the class will be shorter, the price is now half of what it was.

For those who aren't sure what this is all about and just want one day of "trance-formation," I made an option for just coming for one day only. But only people who do the whole foundations weekend can do the advanced modules later when I offer them.

I already have a few people registered from before. There is room for more, but room is limited, and I will not take last minute registrations for this class because there is so much to prepare. So make sure you register early before spaces fill up or before registration closes.

Come frolic in Park City

Here is the Link to Register and all the hotel information. (The room rate is ridiculously great for anyone who mentions my training. I'm thinking of inviting my friend to come up and stay and just play with me after the training and go in the sauna. BTW a sauna and then a cold shower afterward will add years to your life.)

I will attempt to organize and post some of my downloads here as inspiration permits. Wohoo!

You Created This Situation and You Have the Power To Change It

A few years ago I became a fan of Angel Cards and simple Oracle Cards. My friend from hypnotherapy school had several decks and sometimes offered to do readings for me. A reading consists of me asking a question or asking for a message about an issue. Then she asks God and the angels to guide the reading. Then she pulls a card. The card has a simple message on it that can be somewhat general but always proves to be very timely and appropriate for me. Eventually I stopped thinking they were silly. God will communicate with us in any way we are open to hearing it, and the angels cards have been a first or second or third witness to me enough times that I now totally embrace them. I often do the same kind of "reading" by praying for God to guide me, and then opening my scriptures at random. It is amazing how not random it is.

So that is the long introduction to my epiphany that came through a stubborn angel card that would't leave me alone. I finally bought my own Archangel Michael deck app (by Doreen Virtue) and the last few weeks I used it often. Not every day, but more often than not, because I felt really stuck and struggling to see things some days.

There were several messages that kept coming up in both the cards and my scriptures, but the card that bothered me so much (because it came up all the time) was this one:

And this is what the back side said.

You have to scroll down to read the rest of the card, but this is what it says.
"This card is a reminder that you are a powerful creator made in the image and likeness of the Divine Creator! You're not a passive victim; you have the right and the skills to rise above and change everything in this situation and relationship. However, as long as you blame others or believe that they're controlling you, you'll remain stuck. But by calling upon God and Archangel Micheal, and then taking charge according to your guidance, you can change everything in miraculous ways."
I got really sick of reading this card and I sort of dismissed it because I didn't think it was accurate. I pulled it so many times. Each time I thought that my deck must be getting clogged with energy and I need to clear it and reconsecrate it because the readings were not accurate any more. Well then a bunch of bells went off in my head. There are 44 cards in the deck and only one of these cards. Some I rarely pull and some I get often. There was clearly something I wasn't looking at. No one likes to believe that they are a victim of their own victim mentality. But I decided to read it closely.

This is what stood out to me: you have the right and the skills to rise above and change everything in this situation.

And I realized in what way I had made myself a victim. I was blaming God and being his victim! The God who provides everything for me and who I adore and praise.

It seems funny now, but I think so many of us do it: "You told me to move into this house, and now this is going wrong, and this and this...." Or "You told me to marry him...", OR "You promised me xyz in a priesthood blessing, so I did xyz and now look what's happened....."

We blame God for getting us into messes that we are truly responsible for.

The other big thing is to believe one is a victim or being controlled by God's timing. It is true that God's time is much different than ours, but like the card says, as long as you continue to blame and feel others are controlling you, then you will remain stuck.

I was definitely feeling stuck. And I wanted to change my situation. The problem was to try to find the balance between being a powerful creator who relies on God's guidance rather than being a powerful creator who is mad and trying to control God and tell him what to do and how things should be.

The card said I had the RIGHT and the SKILLS. Those words stung me. I have the right to communicate with God and gain understanding and insight. I have the right to become unstuck. I was choosing not to. But I can act and not be acted upon.

I wondered what the skills were, but then I realized I have lots of skills. First, I am good at asking for help when I need it. So a called a couple people and asked them to pray for me. This helped a lot. I could feel it instantly. The stuck feeling lifted for long enough for me to get some clarity.

One message I got from the scriptures was that I needed to ask God for help by calling on a specific name of God. He told me that name in several random (not random) scripture passage openings (hookums, I call them). It was a simple name: Lord God.

And I loved this scripture that I found it in:
Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (Jeremiah 32:17)
I realized that another of my skills is using my imagination. So I went into the imagery state and asked God to show me how to change my situation. My guardian angels instantly stepped forward and told me they were going to help me figure this out. They told me to look down, and I saw that I was surrounded by a metaphysical lake of despair. I was floating on a barge in the middle of this lake. The barge was held up by warrior angels that my friend had prayed for. This explained the good days.

Some days I had felt great, but there was still a feeling of not being on solid ground. The other days had been characterized by a sinking or drowning feeling. It all made sense. It was a pretty major Satanic device that was following me around and I was stuck in it.

It had remained hidden from my view and from others' too, because Satan has lots of ways to hide these things. He had me thinking it was just normal stuff. Till it all added up to more than that. But that's how he works. It's just your period. It's just so hot outside. You just ate something bad. You are mineral deficient. It's just that your life sucks and you have the right to feel despair. You are no good. Those are the thoughts that we sometimes believe that keep us from thinking that in fact it is actually Satan being his bad self trying to stop whatever awesomeness is happening or might happen.

So to fix the problem, I used my imagination and I invited Jesus Christ to come and help me. I had to "lash myself to the mast," (which was Him) as he dried up all the lake of despair and sent it back to where it came from. I was finally standing on a solid foundation.

Then I sprouted my wings and flew around for a while like an eagle. I came out of the vision state totally refreshed and knowing that the problem was solved permanently.  It has been nice to feel like myself again.

For some reason the story of Alma the younger comes to mind. (You can read the whole story in the book of Mormon starting here. It's just a few chapters.) When the angel intercepts Alma and his hoodlum friends on the road he tells them he has come in answer to the prayers of Alma's father. I always read that and think what any parent wouldn't give to have that kind of an answer to prayers for their wayward children.

Alma probably had some good skills. But I also think a big part of it was that he was clear about things. It's hard to imagine that he ever blamed God, or the sons of Mosiah, or his life circumstances or his DNA for having a wayward child. He probably never felt like a victim. Or if he did, realized that he had the right to change, and then he used his skills and God's guidance.

I also wonder if God guided him to pray in a specific way or using a specific name? Perhaps he called on God day and night, mantra style. Something to think about.

Another story that comes to mind is the story that takes place in the Book of Mormon right before Christ comes. (You can read it starting here.) The unbelievers say He is never going to come and they set a date. They say if he doesn't come by this date, they are going to kill all the believers. The date is coming up and the believers are sweating. So Nephi prays. He prays fervently for all the believers and God tells him, don't worry, tomorrow I am coming into the world.

Sure enough the signs of his coming happen the next day. The unbelievers repent. It's good times.

But I wonder how much of this is all timed down to the minute or if Mary went into labor early because Nephi's prayers were sincere. Or maybe the signs just came early to that side of the world, when in fact, he was born a week later in Jerusalem. I'm not sure how God works it all out, but it is worked out somewhere in a space beyond time, and we are not victims of time. Time is not toxic. Time is on our side. We have the rights and the skills to rise above and change every situation with his help. Through Him we are more than conquerers.

Why You Should Be Rich and Happy Now - The Axis and Orbit Summer Challenge

One of my readers, Ryan, asked me to write more about prosperity. So I am guessing that this will be the first in a series of posts.

Here is a great quote from Yogi Bhajan that I will explain hereafter:

If your psyche is right on its axis, you’ll be happy no matter whether you are rich or poor. If your psyche is right on its orbit, you’ll be rich whether or not you are happy. If both are in harmony, you’ll be rich and happy and a giver like God.” --Yogi Bhajan.

So to explain, your AXIS is your own personal connection with your God and your higher self and if you are right spiritually than you will be happy, as he says, whether you are rich or poor.

Your ORBIT is your interaction with others and the world and if your psyche is balanced in this regard you will just naturally be rich, no matter whether or not your are happy. It is easy to see people who are balanced on their orbit because they have outward manifestations of success.

The idea is that you want to be balanced on both axis and orbit. There is this old Piscean notion that you can't be rich and spiritually enlightened. You know the sayings: Money is the root of all evil, Money is the world's curse. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to enter heaven... etc etc.

These sayings and that last highly misunderstood scripture I quoted, have been used for hundreds of years now by Satan and his secret combinations, to promote the monastic lifestyle--a lifestyle of being balanced on one's AXIS, but not on one's orbit. Meaning that if you choose God you choose poverty.

Why would Satan promote this, you ask? Well for one thing, people with money (or control of the money or resources) tend to be the ones who develop society. And the evil powers in the universe do not want enlightened, spiritual people developing society. So they have done a good job convincing some very good, spiritual people that money is bad, and that success and prosperity will lead you off the straight and narrow path. While that is possible, it is also possible that if you are balanced on your axis, you'll stay on the path and you'll do a lot of good for God with the resources he blesses you with.

The truth is, money is just symbolic. It is what we use to symbolize energy exchange, and until that system changes, it's what we have to work with. The key is to have your psyche balanced in both areas. Then you will be both rich and happy and you'll use the money as God would.

So if you were wondering why you are happy but poor, or rich and unhappy, or both poor and unhappy, the answer is because one or both of your axis and orbit is not balanced. And since I know you have tried everything else, let me tell you that Kundalini Yoga and meditation is the energetic technology that is strong enough to right your psyche in both areas. Don't stop all the other good things you are doing. Just add more Kundalini.

I have been in the top 2% of earners at one point (and every unhappy) and I have been way below the poverty line (perhaps if there is a bottom 2% I was there) and also unhappy. When I started adding more Kundalini I became enormously happier. Then my psyche started to balance on it's orbit and I learned what prosperity truly meant.

Now, I don't consider myself on any of the world's scales of prosperity or success. This is because God provides things (resources, money, opportunities, stuff) for us in miraculous ways, and uses us to provide for others in miraculous ways. Even though there is still a money exchange at times, I feel like I have opted into the law of consecration and it works beautifully. I often feel like I am the happiest and richest person in the world. Maybe that is how it feels to be like God. A giver.

I find myself wishing that all of my students and blog readers and clients could feel the same. Right now. Because there is a great work to do. It's not all about paying the mortgage or rent anymore. And it's not about struggling to stay afloat in the lake of despair anymore. You were born to have joy and to contribute!

Even though the Kundalini technology is fast, you should know it still takes effort. These issues go to the very core of everything for some of us. But even if it took 6 months say, or a year--that's nothing when you think of all the years you've lived with and struggled with your problems. So I'd like to issue a challenge. It will be a 10 week challenge. I'm calling it the Tree of Life Kundalini Yoga Summer Challenge.

The idea is to go to, or watch, or do at home with a manual, as many Kundalini Yoga classes as possible by the Fall equinox (this is addition to your daily meditation which I'm sure you are already doing). The goal being 30 classes or more by the end of summer. That is about 3 per week. If you are already doing a Level 1 teacher training or daily Aquarian Sadhana then you are covered (that is the 2.5 hours/day early morning group sadhana).

If you don't have classes near you or it's hard to get to them, I have a 6 class prosperity series as well as a 6 class rebirthing series available online for a very reasonable price. You can do the same ones over and over if you like them. I'll also offering new classes near the end of the summer. Click here for all the info on upcoming and recorded classes.

But it honestly doesn't matter so much what the theme of the class or kriya is that you you do, so long as you do it. If you are looking for classes near you, make sure it is Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. Anything else I can not vouch for.

If you have a manual and do kriyas at home, you can get the group energy by imagining that you are mediating with 1000 other yogis. In truth, you may be, you just can't see them.

Anyone who meets the challenge or goes beyond it, will most likely have their psyche, axis, orbit and a lot more transformed, and will be invited to share their story on my blog or podcast, and will get a free copy of my forthcoming book, Awake As In Ancient Days: The Christ-Centered Kundalini Yoga Experience.

To join the challenge, first tell all your friends you are going it. Socially commit. And get a friend or two to join you if you can. Then just download and print out the spreadsheet at this link. There is a place for dates and teacher names and a place for the teacher to sign if you attend their class life. This will give you an excuse to talk to the teacher. :) If you don't attend live, you can still keep track this way.

During the challenge, feel free to post pictures or comments or blog links on my FB page. At the end of the challenge, just email me your forms! I'm so excited about this. I will be doing it too. I'm going to try to go out and find more live classes in my area, which means I'll probably meet lots of new people, too.

Bedtime Stories

I tell my daughter bedtime stories. They are largely all plot. The characters vary but many times they are named Penelope or Purple or Pearl or some other P name. They often go on until I finda  way to resolve the plot mess I have gotten into, then they resolve suddenly and dramatically, usually happily. Penelope saves all the on the morning I have forgotten everything. But she remembers.

She reminds me of the story in the morning or the next night and asks me to tell it again. I listen with curiosity. I ask her for details. Sometimes it all comes back to me but most of the time I am baffled. Did I tell you that? It is almost like the just fly through my brain and then they are gone. I have to go into story telling mode/trance, and wait for one to fly in before I can start. They are like bats, they usually only fly in at night.

I have to be careful about sequels or ending on a cliff hanger because if I don't know any of the characters or plot tomorrow it is hard to pick up where you left off.

I like to believe that some of them are genius Ericksonian tales that subtly shift and heal her, but most of the time they are pretty silly. Sometimes she boos me at the end and tells me it stunk. But for the last few months I have had positive reviews.

We finally found a solution for when she wants to hear a certain story over again. We started recording them with my digital audio recorder. Then she can play it back and listen whenever. And then she and I had the idea to share some of these with whoever who feels like listening.

I make no guarantees about their entertainment value or appropriateness. My daughter is 8 so her attention span is longer than it used to be. The stories are usually 15-20 minutes. That's about how long it takes me to resolve a plot. Although there are some that are very short. So if you feel like listening here is the link: Penelope's Bedtime Stories. Click on the tracks tab to see all the stories we have uploaded so far.

Six Percent Return

prayer 320 text
Yogi Bhajan always said that it makes more sense to pray for others because you also get six percent back. If you pray for yourself it may or may not work, but if you pray for others, you get the return. It doesn't really matter if your prayer for them is answered or not. Because let's be honest, we don't really know what to pray for. I could pray for my 4'8" female friend to become an NBA basketball star. This is probably not what she wants and it is not likely to happen for her. But if the prayer is sincere, I get 6% back on each prayer.

Knowing this, I have no qualms asking people to pray for me on the occasions I need it. Sometimes I need it for long periods, such as when I was working on my book. Thank you to everyone for those months of prayers! I am currently working on getting the final stuff done for the book and I could use a few this week and next.

I also take my list of people that I say I'm praying for seriously. I started to forget people when the list gets long and I am tired before bed or half asleep in the morning. So I have started a list on my phone and sometimes I open it when I am praying. I got this idea from a friend. She is very organized. I always ask her for prayers when I need them.

A year and a half ago when I was in my dark night of the soul and I relied so much on the prayers of others and barely had anything to give in return, I would just pray and thank God so sincerely for the prayers of others. Then I asked that their prayers on our behalf would come back to them 100 fold. I am not sure about the math on that one. But I was incredibly supported through that time.

I had an interesting experience recently where I was having a problem and I couldn't pray it away but when I asked a friend to pray for me, it went away as soon as she prayed. And it stayed away the whole day. Then the next day I had to ask her again because my own prayers weren't really working in that area. Interesting. I will write more about it sometime, but I think it was mostly to get me to write this blog post.

Mom Schooling - An Inventory

What I have learned from a year and a half of home schooling.

After I stopped alternately kicking and screaming and crying, I really enjoyed homeschooling. You are looking at a truly accidental homeschooler. I didn't believe in it. In fact, I still don't, some days--not for everyone, at least. But I got a strong inspiration the summer before first grade began and it wouldn't go away. I had no idea how I would do it. I half heartedly tried to see if I could do it, but it hit a lot of barriers when I tried, and so I figured I had tried my best, but it didn't work. (Whew!)

Then I got full custody and at Christmas time when we had that "family emergency" and moved to Utah for 3 months, I pulled her out of school. I had unplugged from all my work so I had lots of free time. I didn't really think of it as an opportunity, but more like a sentence.

For the first 3 months I did nothing in the way of schooling. She played in the snow all day every day and at night she cried herself to sleep. It was a rough time. Then we went back to California. We went to the beach every day and she no longer cried herself to sleep. I felt like a horrible home educator. I didn't feel I was teaching her anything except maybe some abstract lessons about being graceful in a crisis. Which I now realize was a huge thing. But it was hard to quantify at the time.

Then one night in desperation I put on a movie I had been keeping in reserve till she was the right age. I figured she might be close enough. It was, The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe. I hadn't seen it in years and I hadn't read the books so I didn't really remember what was in it.  It was amazing. What was more amazing though was to watch her watch it. She wept so bitterly when Aslan let himself be sacrificed. She couldn't stand it. She looked at me like this was the worst movie ever. I didn't know/remember what happened. but I said, "I think it turns out okay."

Then of course, he is resurrected, because he is the Christ figure, and she was so happy you'd have thought she was the one riding on his back. She wanted to watch it every day after that. And so I let her. Twice a day. Three times a day sometimes. This was the first time she had taken an interest in something for very long (besides snow and beach). I subscribe to the "follow their interests" kind of homeschooling philosophy and here, finally, after detoxing from the old way of learning, we were both ready to just go with the flow. And the flow was a lot of The Chronicles of Narnia.

We went to the library and got the books and read them all that summer. We watched all the movies that they made--a lot of times. Reading that series for the first time as an adult with an already deep understanding Jesus Christ, was so awesome. C.S. Lewis's is truly a magnificent, enlightened mind. They are so deep, yet they are written for children. It was so cool to watch the way it illuminated gospel concepts for my daughter in a new way, through the story and the characters.

So that is what we did all summer. (We also threw some watermelons and things into the pool to see if they would sink or float.)  When we moved to our new town, the library became one of our regular places. They knew us by our first names. Once, she was learning about idioms, she ran up and told the librarian "this library is the cat's pajamas!

This led to other great books. When we read The Neverending Story, we both wept at the end. (The movie is a huge disappointment. The book is epic. 1000 pages epic, but worth it.)

We also started listening to books on CD. So we have both been able to listen classics and other books that we would not normally have ever read on our own, such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (15 hours round trip to AZ), and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Also a trip to AZ. I recommend listening to this rather than reading it because of all the hard to read jargon--it's much more fun to listen to.)

We have also enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society, which is a series about some pretty cool and genious spy kids--the plot is remarkably similar to what may actually be going on in the world....( evil man sending out subliminal type brainwashing messages into people's minds through technology waves... plotting to take away all their agency and power and take over the world..)

And there was a lovely book we listened to on a drive recently called The Magician's Elephant. The whole book felt like dreamy poetry. The actor who read it was also very great.

But let me get back to the point. I never thought I could be a home schooler, but it has proven to have some benefits for me, too. At first I was kind of jealous. I wish I had been schooled this way. It would have been so great for me.... Then I got over it and realized that I was actually also healing my own school experience, which was not bad once I got to high school, but the younger years had some trauma in them.

The social part was getting a little crazy-making. PJ needs a LOT of social stimulation and I like a lot of time alone to read books. So together we don't always match. But we found a great enrichment school where she goes 3 days/week and takes classes like farm to table cooking, improv, tennis, hiking, or space explorers. The kids actually vote on their classes each trimester and then they pic between several options that get voted in. It is kind of like a liberal arts college. They also go on a field trip every week. It's amazing that a school like this even exists. And I think it only exists here where we live.
feild trip to tide pools

So I still get a few hours off every week and she gets her social group of friends of all ages. The school even pays for our curriculum we use at home, which is nothing really, except for library access and youtube, so we spent most of the money on art supplies. Another form of prosperity for us. We are rolling in it around here. Wahe Guru!

I thought I would only home school her for one year, but now I think I might do it forever.

Oh and as an afterthought, did I mention that she loves math. She adores it. Finds ways to do it everywhere. And even though she resisted reading (independently) for this whole year, she is now obsessed with stories and writing things. This has led to lots of "mom how do you spell ...." and lots of funny notes and poems and stories. Her vocab is huge, but her spelling skills aren't there yet so it can be funny.

I have noticed lately that she is sneaking and reading books when I am not looking. I figured out in pre-school that she is the type who likes to be good at something before she shows anyone. So she pretends she can't, then secretly practices until she is really good and one day says, "look what I can do."

She is also a nature girl and our town has proved to be amazing and healing for her. Her school here even made a class in honor of her called "Earth Works" because during all the breaks she would build fairy houses out of sticks and flowers and acorn hats. They got pretty elaborate and all the kids started joining in. She creates art wherever she goes. When I get fed up with the mess and take all her supplies away she goes outside and makes art with rocks and sticks and yarn. If she were a bird, she'd make awesome nests.

At the Lavender Festival

So in the end, it was me who got schooled in this process. I feel like I am actually enjoying her childhood with her some of the time, and I have had an opportunity to re-school myself and follow my interests too.

I am so glad I let God provide they way for us to do this. Wahe Guru!

The Latest On the Air

I haven't blogged in a while but I feel like I have because I've been spilling all my thoughts out in podcasts. Recently Andy and I have been recording two a week (to build up a credit instead of making you wait weeks when we take, time off). So if you want to hear some of the latest (addiction recovery, masculine and feminine roles, parenting, and other good stuff, remember to download it or however you listen. Sat Nam.
